Ant in my brain

NOTES FROM THE BOOKSHELF

About

There is an ant in my brain and it crawls and crawls, all over, thinking up thoughts and evoking feelings. It looks out of the pupils of my eyes, watching the world and crawling restlessly, sometimes from my forehead to the top of my brain, just under the skull. Sometimes it gets really crazy and dashes from the right side to the left side of my brain, perceiving, processing and digesting all that it has seen and heard.

It’s a mad ant.

Also, I don’t know if it’s inside my brain or just on top. Sometimes it feels like a fantasy and sometimes I can actually feel its legs walking. It does not alarm me. It’s just there, living my life with me, sometimes even helping me make sense of it.

Hi there! Welcome to „Ant in my Brain,“ a personal blog in the style of old.

This is where I write my musings about life, narrate stories and experiences I’ve had over the past several decades, as a journalist and a citizen of the world in general, and recommend books based on what I’m reading.

Consider it to be an online version of a bookshop, tucked in the corner of a narrow street, by a large oak tree, with tall shelves full of books, some curios and souvenirs and a couple of armchairs perfect for cozying up with a book.

Happy browsing and feel free to get in touch at manasigopalakrishnan@gmail.com.
